CATEGORIES

The Miami International Ballet Competition is open to dancers of all nationalities from ages 7 - 24.

The Competition will take place at the Julius Littman North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theater  

from January 21 - 25, 2026

 

Participants may enter the competition as Individual Competitors, an Ensemble or Pas de Deux, either representing a company or school or as an independent performer.  There are three competitive categories and four age divisions, each with an individual performance fee.  The participant’s appropriate division will be determined by their age as of January 21, 2026. Competitors that enter in the Individual or Pas de Deux categories may also participate as part of an Ensemble.  An Ensemble’s age division will be determined by the average age of the competitors.

CATEGORY 01 INDIVIDUAL​ COMPETITOR

Participants in this category must complete and submit the corresponding Application and Registration forms, along with a one-time $50 Application fee and the required Final Registration fee according to their age division. There are five age divisions. Fees include all master classes. 

Exceptions:

  - Having previously auditioned at one of our regionals

  - Miami International Ballet Competition will automatically accept dancers who have won any of the first three prizes or Grand Prix between January 1, 2025 and October 31, 2025, at the listed International Ballet Competitions  in the Application Process

PRIMARY DIVISION: AGES 7 TO 8 – REGISTRATION FEE: $175

Participants in this division must prepare one classical variation, selected from our list of approved repertoire. Participants in this age division may add an additional Classical or Contemporary variation for a fee of $75 per additional variation. Participants in this Division are should compete without pointe shoes.

DIVISION 1: AGES 9 TO 11 – REGISTRATION FEE: $250

Participants in this division must prepare two solos: once classical variation, selected from our list of approved repertoire and one contemporary solo.  Participants in this Division should compete without pointe shoes. Participants in this age division may add an additional Classical or Contemporary variation for a fee of $75 per additional variation.

DIVISION 2: AGES 12 TO 14 – REGISTRATION FEE: $375

Participants in this division must prepare two solos: one classical variation, selected from our list of approved repertoire, and one contemporary solo. Participants in this Division may compete with or without pointe shoes. Participants in this age division may add an additional Classical or Contemporary variation for a fee of $75 per additional variation.

DIVISION 3: AGES 15 TO 18 – REGISTRATION FEE: $425

Participants in this division must prepare three solos: two classical variations, selected form our list of approved repertoire and one contemporary solo. Participants in this Division should compete with pointe shoes. Participants in this age division may add an additional Contemporary variation for a fee of $75 per additional variation.

DIVISION 4: AGES 19 TO 24 – REGISTRATION FEE: $450

Participants in this division must prepare two classical variations, selected from our list of approved repertoire. Participants in this age division may add a Contemporary variation for a fee of $75 per additional variation. Participants in this Division should compete with pointe shoes.

*Contemporary solos should be no longer than 2 minute and 30 seconds

Ensemble

CATEGORY 02 ENSEMBLE (DUO - TRIO - GROUP)

The Ensemble category is open to participants between the ages of 7 to 24.  The ensemble’s choreographer, coach or representative must complete and submit the corresponding Application and Registration forms, along with a one-time $100 Application Fee per group and a $50 Final Registration Fee per dancer.  There is one fee for all age divisions.  The ensemble must include a minimum of 2 dancers and a maximum of 16.  It can be either classical or contemporary in style.

 

DIVISION 1:  AGES 7 TO 11 - REGISTRATION FEE: $50 PER DANCER

 

DIVISION 2: AGES 12 TO 17 – REGISTRATION FEE: $50 PER DANCER

 

DIVISION 3: AGES 18 TO 24 – REGISTRATION FEE: $50 PER DANCER

 

*Ensemble pieces with 2 – 5 people should be no longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds; 6 – 9 people should be no longer than 3 minutes; 10+ people should be no longer than 4 minutes.

 

**Participants in the ensemble groups that are not competing individually are required to reserve their spot in the Master Classes of their choice by making a payment of $30.

Pas de Deux

CATEGORY 03 PAS DE DEUX​

The Pas de Deux category is open to participants between the ages of 13 to 24. 

The couple must complete the corresponding Application and Registration forms separately, along with a one-time $50 Application fee and a $150 Registration fee per dancer.  The couple must prepare one full length Pas de Deux including adagio, both variations and coda.  Classical Pas de Deux must be selected from our list of approved repertoire.

DIVISION 1: AGES 13 TO 14 – REGISTRATION FEE: $300 PER COUPLE

DIVISION 2: AGES 15 TO 18 – REGISTRATION FEE: $300 PER COUPLE

DIVISION 3: AGES 19 TO 24 – REGISTRATION FEE: $300 PER COUPLE

*Contemporary pas de deux should be no longer than 3 minutes and 30 seconds

*Professional Dancers are welcome
